Servos fully deflect at switch on

I'm completing a new installation, and while checking the aileron servos for throw etc., the servos are deflecting initially when the Rx is switched on. Then as soon as the bind lights are on, they return to their normal position. I don't remember having this before with my Ar7000's, but this is a new rx and I was wondering. The Tx is a 9503 (DSM2) and the new rx is a JR 921 (DSMX). Servos are HiTec, which I always use. These are analog.
Any thoughts? It does look pretty stupid...

Thanks,
Mike

You need to Re BIND your plane and that should stop any deflection on start up.

It is recommended that after you program/reprogram any function in your TX you should Re Bind your RX.

I know of some people that will Re Bind once a month.

I do after what I mentioned above and during the winter when I am PMing my planes.

Try it and let us know.

Rebind your radio/reciever with the control surfaces in the neutral position. With trans/reciever on, center your control surfaces. Turn reciever off first, then trans. Control surfaces should still be in the neutral position. Inset bind plug and turn the reciever on. Control surface shold still be in the neutral position. Push bind and turn on the transmitter. Pull the bind plug. Try off then on and see what happens.

Sounds like the servos were moving to a failsafe positon. Even if you did not set one, the initail servo position when you first bind the system becomes the default failsafe positon. ALWAYS rebind before your first flight.

Thanks guys - that did it. I hadn't worried about rebinding yet as I'm still working on the bench.
Seems so obvious now - but isn't that so often the case?

Much appreciated.

Experience is what you get right after you need it :)

Glad it worked.

Don't forget to RE BIND after finishing up on your workbench and every so often during the flying season.

Also, If want to have your engine come back to idle if you loose connection you need to bring back your throttle and maybe your trim to do so before you BIND/ReBIND.

At some flying events you must prove this to be the case.

I like doing it so when I am range checking my plane for the first flight of the day I have my throttle just above idle and when I get out of range it will go back to low idle I know how far my range is.

Thanks Roger - a reminder is always a good thing - especially after hibernating over winter, such as it was!

Cheers,
Mike
