3121 Torque after gear change
 

I bought 4ea JRPS 3121 servos and replaced the gears with the 3421 allow gears. (Long story) The 3421 servos are rated at a much higher torque and lower speed. Does having changed the gears in the 3121's increase the torque at all or is it the motor of the 3421 that gives it the extra power and speed?

If you change all of the gears including the motor pinion, it may change the torque and speed ratings, but I don't have any information on what that might be.

Is there any way for me to find out? Is however they determine speed and torque at the factory able to be done at home?

The only way to find out would be to measure the torque and speed. There are devices that can be used for that though they can be costly, as well as weighting the servo to find out how much weight the servo can move with a 1" arm.
