2.7m Extra with DA-85 KS1090
Here are some pics of my install of a DA-85 and KS 1090 tuned pipe. I have a bit more finish up work but it is getting close. This should be a killer setup.

Jon,
I like the way you installed the 1090's keep us posted, I suspect the CG will be aft so keep as much of the radio installation as far forward as you can.
Looking forward to hearing when you get some time on it
Al

Al,
I will definately move everything up front. I am not far enough along yet to see how it will balance but one way or another I will make it happen. I will post my results and what it takes to get it to balance once I get that done.

I am not sure what Db uses for the linkages on the tail but we use the rocket city rc-69D's. They work great are very secure and you can remove them very easily when you want to.

Well the plane is done and ready for it's maiden. The total weight with the 85 and 1090 is 25lbs. 14oz. It is heavier than I expected but I am sure with the pipe it will have plenty of power. There was no problem balancing with the pipe. I have my receiver and ignition pack mounted to the side of the motor box.

Kevin,
Yes I will take some pictures of the full setup. It looks like the maiden will be tomorrow. I am sure it will be good.

Here are some more pics. Once I get the cg set for my liking I will get the final battery placement and clean up the wiring a bit. Also, if you remember the pic of what UPS did to my cowl. You can see what I did with a bit of bondo and paint.

Well I maidened the plane today. All I can say is wow! The power with the 1090 is incredible. I can officially go out and throw my scale away because the weight really doesn't matter. I only got a couple of flights in very high wind so I did not get to do much. I did hover for a bit and the plane locked in very well. I can tell this plane will be alot of fun. There is absolutely no step or peakiness in the transition with the 1090. I will post more results once I fly it a bit more.
