Humidity/Dew Point and Thrust....lets talk

Ok, So this Monday we got some more flying in due to the holiday :)

But Monday was just a slight bit different. For the first time ever, I would have to say that the K80G seemed like she was missing a few lbs of thrust...Now mind you in South Texas it was 85 before the sun came up, but these temps I fly in all the time. But on Monday, the air was REALLY thick. It was patchy Fog heading to the field but when I got there the skies were clear. She didn't start running like a champ until the sun got up a little higher and burned the thick air out of there....

This is the first time the engine seemed to be holding back...but by the 6th flight she was humming like a cruise missle.....

I tried to pull the weather history data to post some numbers, but NOAA wont go back past this morning. Anyone else have this happen?

It's called "Density Altitude"and moisture in the air can affect it. Do a Google search and find out more than you might want to know.
