Default Retractable Tailwheel

I want to put a mechanicle retractable tailwheel onto my Great Planes P-51D kit, Has anyone ever done this to a 40 sized airplane before and then been able to make it steer? If you have anypics of a rear retract please let me see it.

smokinghole42:

Check with Robart's - you can pull the air cylinder off and use mechanical operation.
