John, here are some pics of the cub. There will be more
bird.
Sorry but they didn't show! can't seem to erase this message either. They really didn't improve the process when they changed it. too difficult for this old dog!

That's ok bigbird3... I may have already seen some pic's of it; or it may have been someone else's... there's a couple of very detailed 1/3 scale Cubs out there that look almost like the real aircraft.

I know there's a few steps to posting images here on this forum, but once you get the hang of it, its not so vague... you can try using one of the free image hosting sites like http://tinypic.com ; or http://www.imghost.us/ ... upload to one of the sites and then post the links to the images in one of your next posts.

Thanks John, I'm off to N.C. around noon out of Manchester N.H. today. I bought a 2000 explorer for 2000 bucks and there is no rust! If you live in the north east, you know what that means! I'm tired of buying 'beaters' that last only a couple of years. Even then you have to patch rocker panels and patch holes that let the exhaust in. It's a real pain! It's a four wheel drive and that is unusual for that part of the country. it was born there and lived there all it's life! Although it is unusual, it might become the norm if the weather this winter is any indication of what is to come. I will be back in about four days or so and I'll try to upload then.
we got about 20 plus inches here in Vermont yesterday. Hope it's the last hoo-rah for the winter. It has been a tiring winter! And too, I had two heart attacks since christmas so that didn't help with the modeling activity. It will be nice to get back out in the shop with out having to heat it up first.
Later bud. See you when I get back.
bird.

Has anyone kit bashed a Cub? I am building the 1/5th SIG Cub, and bought a second wing kit so I can have the Full and Clipped wing version. For giggles I took the Clipped wing and held it at the bottom of the Fuse with the full wings mounted. I think once I finish the current batch of planes, I may build a second fuse and make a Cub Bipe. Stagger wing too with the lower wing ahead of the top wing. It will make a very unusual and unique looking plane. So now I have something I can put my Saito 100 on.

My cub is nearing the covering stage! I have to cover the stab and elevator before I can glue in the fin. Going to do that tomorrow.

OH I found a use for my mechanical retracts now! Maybe make the lower wing one piece instead. Hmm now you really have me thinking. Maybe setup the landing gear to be ME109 style where they fold outwards instead of inwards.

OOOH and a Radial engine instead of the HO 4. Make it a WaCub

http://www.supercub.org/photopost/da...018_-_Copy.JPG

Take a look at the bottom of this link http://www.vintagewings.ca/VintageNe...er-Beaver.aspx
Twin fuse cub. I have one that was given to me that had never been flown, just needs some reworking to be to my liking and covered. It is two greatplanes cubs

As short of a take-off run needed with a regular Cub I can only imagine how quick the bi-wing version would lift.

I agree on the ugly part but it's also just strange enough that it would be the talk of the field. I hope to someday to cover it and fly it.

I have to agree it would have a big WOW factor at the field! I can't really complain about looks I built a Dornier D1 because it was so ugly I just had to have one!

NICE CUB! Looks like a keeper rc74!

Speaking of twins here is one the British made in late September of 1940.
