Default covering problems

Hi,

Just finishing my DHC Chipmunk. I am using Monocote for covering as I did on my other planes and never had any problems with it, till now! Before, I have used red, black, white and yellow monocote and now decided to cover Chipmunk with yellow and silver monocote. As always yellow works great but I cannot iron down that stupid silver thing, it wonīt adhere down. I tried all temperatures but no, it is totally different from other colors, it is not as flexible as other colors, canīt describe actually...
Now what to do?

Any help would be great...

If you are putting it down over existing covering of another color, you could use the MonoKote Trim Solvent. It works, but it takes some practice. Use very little of it (If you think it all evaporated off of your application rag, you probably have the right amount).

If you are applying it over wood and it won't stick, maybe you got a bum roll. I have never used the silver, but I have noticed that some colors behave differently than others (stretch more or less etc).

Good luck!

I have used it over wood with no problems. You must have a bad roll.

That would be my guess too. It happens sometimes. Try buying another roll from another source.
