Default Converting plans to pdf or similar?

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if it's possible to have a set of plans scanned and converted to a pdf file or something similar so I could post here in the forums for a reference for help? Is this something Office Depot or Staples could do? I don't have a Kinkos in my area.

Thanks

Hi

Yes you can. I did at Fedex Kinkos. They charge more than they used too. Give them a call and check for your area.

We have a local place that has excellent equipment. They charged $9 to digitize a large sheet of plans to cd containing pdf and tiff files. This place looked like they would be the most expensive, but they are dirt cheap for plain copies of plans, etc. Check the mom and pop places if you have any in the area.

Most if not all blue-print shops, and many print-shops can scan plans and put them into any format you want these days.. Sometimes for just a few bucks... Scanning is no big deal cost wise.. its the output that can cost you.. depending on the size you need. Let your fingers do the walking and start with blue-print shops.. if they're to far away.. try a local print-shop.. I actually work in a print-shop that does this sort of thing daily... we can scan nearly any size plans.. not that it does you any good.. but you'll find someone close to you I'm sure.

Thanks for the info guys! I'll make a few phone calls tomorrow, just hope they're open due to this tropical storm passing by.

Both Office Depot and Staples where I live can scan and save as PDF. Most places that have a print center should be able to take care of this for you.

Thanks Ken, I went to Staples today and they said they couldn't scan anything bigger than 30" x 40". I thought that was strange because I could see the Printers and scanners they use. They were huge..
