Put them inside a hatch, or in the cockpit of open cockpit models large enough to hide them. Another option is not to mount the charge receptical on the outside of the plane. Remove the wing to get to it. Disguise the power switch by mounting it inside the plane, and activating it with a stiff music wire that looks like an antenna or other normal object such as a pitot tube, OAT probe or angle of attack probe.

Depends on the plane. A bigger plane would get a hatch or cockpit location. Smaller .60 sized usually have some black on them someplace so I put it there. Trainers just get it on the side.

I built a SIG J-3 Cub which has an opening door so I put the switch, charging port, and remote glowplug connection inside out of sight. The Cessna 182 I am currently building will have a working luggage door with the switches, etc inside. It will have a cockpit kit installed and it will modified to appear and aux fuel tank was mounted in the baggage area (common aftermarket item) that will hide the switch mountings.

Which 182 kit are you building?

I'm building the Top Flite kit. I was touching up the carving of the Hoerner wingtips and laying out the nav light positions on it last night.

Here's where I put mine. It will be covered by the pilots bust that will go over it.

Great idea! I will have to try that on my next open cockpit airplane.
