I'm wanting to build a giant scale hellcat and am looking to have the kit cut. Do the Bates or Ziroli Hellcat plans come with instructions? I have built kits in the past but would not feel comfortable building without any instructions. Are there any designers out there that provide instructions with their plans? Would like to use a DLE 55 or a G62.
Thanks

I do not know about the Bates plans. I am currently building a Ziroli Hellcat the plans did not come with any instructions. However, there are quite a few build threads on the forums that will help you along the way. The DLE-55 and G-62 are a bit small for the Ziroli version. A friend of mine has the Bates version with a G-45 and it flew the plane very well.

Thanks Steve, I was just looking through the Ziroli Hellcat Builders Thread and had seen your posts. Great job! I'm now looking for a Bates build thread.

There is a thread over on RC Scale Builder on the Bates Hellcat, might have to
join the site to keep pace with the build though.

The Bates has some very basic build info on the plans. It is not really a difficult build but the flaps are a challenge. I built the Bates Hellcat and have a G45 in mine. A DLE 55 or G62 would be a great match. My biggest piece of advice for the Bates Hellcat is to ensure the elevator linkages are completely slop free. I and several others had elevator flutter issues. I eventually put the servos in the stab with very short stiff linkages and the elevators are now rock solid. It is a great flyer.
