Default Making a Logo with Covering

I did a covering thread on my newest plane. Throughout the build my wife kept saying it looked like a submarine, OK, she has a point. During the covering thread someone came up with the Yellow submarine idea. I didn't have the room for a complete logo of the yellow submarine but I did have the room for a Blue Meanie. Why not, it's my plane and I can do what I want to it.Cliff sent me a site for clip art and I found just what I wanted, it printed out as a thumb nail so I just scanned it until I got the correct size. I made3 up several copies as templates. I tape down the templates on both the front and back of the covering so when I cut I will have both a left and right side. Cut the main covering first, tape it onto the plane and lay down the first main color. In my case just dark blue. From then on it's just a mater of cutting out and ironing down the other colors in there proper location. I use the cut templates as my guide. Shazam, logo or if you want you can call it a decal. One that isn't going to blow off in the wind.

Thanks, my index finger still hurts from all the cutting. I tried to get some photos of the plane today but the sun is so bright and this time of year my patio is in a lot of shade. Next time I assemble it I will take it out into the street to get better photos. Some of the guys and I are trying to decide how to best get a cowl on it. Looks like it will be a cut down job and loose the louvers, I really like the louvers though!! It covers up my ignition switch and fill line.
