Hopefully it is something simple like that…

Not a message you like hearing on the phone when you are waiting on an order is all. Was hoping someone else might have some more information.

5 days, still disconnected and no responses to an email asking for an update on the status of my order.

I'm outside the Paypal 45 day dispute window … I wonder if I'm stuck here hoping something shows up at some point.

FWIW, when our phone is out of service because of storm damage, people who try to call get a "Phone has been disconnected"
message. Maybe that is the case here.

Or maybe your not worthy, only conversation I had with the man was very condescending because I had never used the product before, he told me that the product was not for me and ended the conversation, not surprised you haven't herd from him!
I will never use his product.

Possibly, although I haven't heard of much in the way of power outages in Houston Texas. To be clear I'm not attempting to accuse them of anything. I placed my order in October fully aware they can take a while to ship ( from reading other threads ) . That didn't bother me, what does bother me is not being able to contact them any longer, where I was easily able to get a person on the phone in November and early December when I called to touch base on the status of my order. I was hoping someone on the forums may know something further… for example a power outage due to storms, or they shut down for holiday vacation… or… ?

There are a couple other sources out there, I guess I can order from them. I'm trying to get a B-17 finished in the next couple months, tough to do when your materials aren't showing up.

Here is another possible source for aluminum finish. The link comes from Carl Bachhubers Giant scale site.

Thanks for the link Tom, looks like he might not know his phone is broken if he is still posting. I'll keep trying.

mattnew, I have never used it but I have seen some of Bachhubers planes and they look good to me. There are several pictures of his planes on his website which I linked to you.

Flite Metal has a new phone number, the number on the buyaero website works, the number on the flitemetal website has been disconnected.

so ... I was able to get ahold of them, they have had pipeline issues, My order should ship end of this week... fingers crossed.

Thanks for everyone that replied so far and kept it civil. I was worried when I posted this that this could easily turn into a "bash" thread, and I didn't want that, just wanted to gain some more information.

Just posted over on RC Groups site:

I called FliteMetal about 20 min ago and the guy was really cool and very informative he told me it would take 5 to 10 business days for my order He also gave me some information on why they had slow orders in the past and this is what he said it is a DOD contracted product and the mill that produces it was shutting down from Nov to the 1st of Jan. He also stated that if the DOD bought all the product he had to wait for his shipment so he could fulfill orders but did ensure that it was not a problem anymore. I also asked him about his Riveting system and he answered all the many questions I had I think I'll place my order next week.

Post your impressions working with it and some pictures if possible. I'm sure we would all like to read them.

Absolutely, I have a build thread that has been on hold waiting for this order. I can't wait to get going and finish up my B-17 for this spring. I'm not huge into warbirds... but my club has 1 other B-17, 3 corsairs, and a B-25... should be a fun summer of flying with them as long as I can get it done.
