Thanks guys. I'm building a Dynaflite PT-19 with 3 piece wing so I'm sure I could do the same for the SWII. The PT-19 started as a PT-23 but I sold the engine now its going to be a PT-19. I hope to finish it this winter.

Here's a link to my build thread. I built the kit pretty much stock. The air frame was powered by a Magnum 1.60 twin.. I think that you would love that combination. I sure did !

I don't build the spacewalker because I could never make it look as beautiful as you guys do. So i will stick to the unconventional planes so they don't have to look all that.

I'm sure you're going to enjoy the Rascal-168, and I'm hoping some of the guys who have already built one (or more) will pop up here. I seem to remember mention of issues with the build. Guys - a little help here please!!

Thought I'd pop in here once again for a minute. Dave Z just sent me full-size plans for the RC-32 Komander MK-II and I've included them in the website.

Yeah if you have any questions about the builder on the rascal 168, don't be afraid to ask. We did give some information on the 168 build thread that acdii started.

Thanks for the compliment, but don't be afraid to tackle the Spacewalker. It's just sticks and twigs. LOL After seeing your Rascal, I'm sure that you could handle either Spacewalker kit.

In reality it's just another plane. I guess many of you build and stay in your comfort zone but there's nothing to be afraid of building a larger plane if you'd like to have one, other words, if you can build a nice smaller plane you can build a bigger one just as easy. I don't build planes just to show off my skills in doing so but I do build them with a lot of details so others can learn and get ideas for advancing their skills. I still contend this is a shared hobby where we help each other get better at what we do.

I think the best way to describe it is, the joy of building your own plane and getting a lot of fun out of flying it no matter what it is.

am leaning towards the Edge 540 SEA54 . It would be the closest I think to the Somethin Extra, with more 3D, right? That Gemini should have enough power to hover, I hope.

Yes the 540 flys like the something extra but fly's lighter, (if that makes sense) like i say i have the old 120 size and its a great flying plane.

I think I will go ahead and order one then. Futaba 3010's should be more than enough servo for it too.

I did very little flying this year. Other than the one day at SIG, I flew about 4 times. Going on a camping trip this weekend, so no flying.

At least you got to fly. I had planned on going boating last weekend, only to find my transmitter's rudder channel wasn't giving me more than a few degrees of throw. Needless to say, a new radio set and rudder servo are on order as of this morning

Default Please include me in the SIG Brotherhood!

My very first RC airplane was a SIG Kommander. Now, I fly a King Kobra a SIG Hummer and Senior Kadet. I have a Kommander and a Kommander Mark II, still in their boxes. I will try to post pictures of them when I get a little bit more time today.

Sure! Welcome to the SIG Brotherhood, GUS THE I.A.!!!! Gotcha logged with #189. That's quite a classic line of SIG planes that you've got. Yeah, pretty cool.

Stay tuned for a soon to come unique build thread. Crunch donated a kit, Thanks Cap, for this. When we were at the SIG Flyin this year, He flew a 4*60 and had a not so pretty landing which tore the gear off. Was he done? Oh hell no, He picked up the plane, started the motor and threw it in the air. You know what, it looked and flew great without the gear sticking out, so I had a thought, build one with retracts.

So I dug out the plans and gave it a look and can see it won't be difficult at all to install retracts. It will add a little more weight, so will need to lighten it up in places to make up for it. Since it isn't a scale plane, if the wheels are sticking out, will it matter? nope. Power will be either a Saito 91 or 100, depending on weights. Will weigh them and see. I have mechanical and electric retracts that should work well, so which ever one fits better will go in. I can mimic the gear placement of a T6, with fairings. Will see.

Sounds like a great idea. I sure like my 4*40 a lot. Looking forward to it!

I finally maiden my Kadet Senior. This is the kit built version that I modified a couple years back.

Even with no dihedral, and huge ailerons, this model is a smooth flier.

Now that sounds like what I've been thinking about doing to a Kobra. With it's built up wings, it makes installing retracts a little easier, just the nose gear to worry about

That's very similar to my under construction Kadet Jr. I went with three bay wide ailerons, an extended wing and no dihedral. Then again, I'm looking at installing floats on it so I figured adding a bay to each wing would be a good thing for better STOL capabilities
