Default Aileron Question

May be a dumb question but here goes. I am currently building a Pica Jungmeister 133 and am at the wing building point. I see the linkage and servo setup for the bottom wing. My question does the top wing get the same setup or are there no ailerons on the top wing? The plans show upper wing ailerons but the plans show no way of powering them. Are they needed or not.?

The plans and building manual for this plane leave a whole lot to be desired. It sometimes take longer to figure out how the pieces fit together than to do it. Fun and games.

Thanks for the help, it is appreciated

I believe the upper ailerons are driven by the aileron slave rod that connects the upper and lower ailerons. That is, the servo in the lower wing moves the lower aileron, which in turn moves the slave rod, which in turn moves the upper aileron.

Not your kit but a depiction of the type of linkage used. I used these on a GP Aeromaster, worked quite well. You don't have to have the strut through the wing like this, a horn on the bottom of the upper aileron will work just as well

Not quite true, a horn on the bottom of the upper aileron will work BUT it will give a different amount of throw than the lower wing will have. Lots of info elsewhere here in the forums on how to connect upper and lower ailerons and maintain equal throw.

Rodney is right. But there were thousands of GB Ultimates that flew great with the top aile having less deflection than the bottom. Some bipes like yours only used aile on the lower wing. They might feel sluggish by todays standards but will fly just fine.

Late reply I found two aileron stringers? in plywood that have an indent for a hole to be drilled. Guess that's what they are for. Thanks, probably would have overlooked them.
