I just received my PICA 1/6th scale WACO from Quantum Hobbies. Unlike the the 1/5th scale PICA WACO which I fly quite often, you get a flat piece of 3" x 5.5" x 0.030" butyrate plastic and a template for the windshield. I called PICA and they said to use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften then bend as desired. Has anyone ever tried this? I picture the entire piece getting soft with no definite bend. Any suggestions? I'm in no hurry as this is a winter time project and I'm still busy with my Aeromaster 60.

I've had success doing what they say. Find a can that's about the right diameter to give you the curve that you want. Lay the winshield material over it and carefully apply the heat from the heat gun. You'll find that it will soon start to take the shape of the can. Allow it to cool and it should hold it's shape.
