Default Tiger 2 Construction question

My T2 (second plane) is pretty well done, I'm going to be putting a couple of 3/4" balsa gussets under the H Stab to reinforce things there (read about that somewhere here), but have an issue...

I put 1/8" foam saddle tape on the fuse/wing area, but now when I try to screw in the rear anchor screws, the fit is too tight. (~ 1/8" from being seated against the bottom fuselage) 2 options...remove some tape from the front/middle of the saddle to let the rear "seat" or, enlarge the front wing pin locator hole to allow the front of the wing to settle a tad, allowing the rear of the wing to seat. As is, I suppose I may have a very slight positive wing incidence vs the plans (very, very slight). Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated. Just don't want engine goo getting in there...

Also, any suggestions on painting the canopy, will the monocoat type paints work in the acrylic? I'm planning to give it a "cabin" look vs the big open glass area (not much to see there.) Ahhh, maybe the R/C car paints at the LHS should work, designed for the acrylic bodies...

Its pretty well covered, with pushrods in and attached, just gotta start shopping for the radio gear....and install and rig the engine/fuel tank (tight fit for 10oz). Lost the instruction manual, but the plans should be sufficient from here on.

Sounds like it's gonna be a nice plane to fly, can't wait.

Thanks

Dave

Take off the foam wing tape and put a bead of silicone rubber on there to seal the wing/fuse joint.

Tape a piece of Handi-Wrap (or the backing sheet from monokote) to the wing. Make it tight so there are no wrinkles. Make it wide enough to extend out 2 inches on each side of the fuselage.

Clean the saddle area with alcohol and let dry. Run a good bead of silicone caulk on the saddle and then mount the wing. Let dry for 24 hours. Undo the tape on the wing and remove wing. Carefully peel the plastic wrap off. Instant seal!

You can use any plastic model paint on the canopy if you paint on the inside.

Don

PS: You'll love the way it flies.
