Default Genltemen...I messed up

I am installing mechanical retracts and the task did not come out as neat as I had anticipated it would. Would it be okay to place the plywood that the retract screw into at an angle inbetween the wing ribs so that the retracts sit on there nice and flush with the wing?

No problem, just break the mount loose and re-glue it in the correct position.

If it's epoxied in place, a good heat gun may soften it enough to make removing it easier

Pocho,

Maybe a study of these pics will help a bit.

In answer too your question, yes....the more you can get the gear angled forward, the better.

Thank you, both of you thank you you've been alot of help. I did not expect this to be so trublesome, these retracts SEEM amazingly easy to install.
