Name The Best Kit That You Have Built !!
I think a LOT of years of experiance spoke , and a lot was learned in the worst kit thread, lets try a best kit thread.
My best kit was a Top Flite Bonanza, the parts fit, it was rewarding to build, it went togather quick and looked good, took about three months to complete in the F-33 format....this kit placed my stress level at HMMMMMM about "2"
? What was your best kit and what stress level did it bring you down to? ..............Bud...

Best Kit
I think one of my most enjoyable kits to build would be the Ultrasport 1000. It was my 1st large scale attempt, and it came out great. It was also my 1st time flying a plane of this size, and it flew like a dream. I love this plane, and also have the US40 kit (not arf), and US60 kit. Dazzler

The best kit I built was a Japanese sport/pattern ship called Alladin, by Yoshioka. I built the fuselage in 4 hours and built the wing the next day. Had it all covered and ready for radio installation in less than a week, all without being able to read the directions! Sanding took less than an hour because of the high quality of the wood. It was a gentle flyer, to boot. Japanese kits(excluding Marutaka) are truly a dream to build. I would recommend Yoshioka and Tetra kits to anyone.

Top Flite
For those of us already into, or transitioning into, warbirds, the TF folks put out the easiest kits to build. You can make them harder by scaling them out to the Nth degree...however, if you just want a good looking, great flying warbird at minimum effort/expense, start out on the TF fleet of aircraft. The instruction booklets are comprehensive and they will tune your building skills for the other Warbirds on the market. (For heaven Sakes though, don't cover warbirds in Iron-on covering!) My 2 cents. Razorback11

Sig 4* 60
My best/favorite kit so far is the Sig four-star 60 size. Excellent laser cut parts with great instructions (I only glued one part in backwards LOL). To top it off, it was a blast to fly.

Best Kit
The Four Star 60 was seconded already, so I get to add a third, fourth, fifth and a sixth. I have built three and fixed my buddies several times. Hands down this is the easiest kit I have ever built, and that spans many years. My first kit - that I remember - was a Magician 15 by Midwest - some 35 years ago or so. The die cutting is outstanding, the fit is tops, instructions are great,... the aircraft is a joy to fly. Keep in mind that my favorites to fly, at present, are my two 35% Carden Extras. My CGM Sukhoi is a close second. These planes are for pure aeorbatics. The Four Stars are relaxing to fly and a ball to see how much you can get out of them, which is quite a bit.

4*60?
The Sig 4*60 and the Sig Somethin' Extra are pretty much tied for the best kit award in my opinion. But, for the best flying planes from kits, The Goldberg Tiger 60 gives the 4*60 a good race.
I had a Tiger 60.
Now.......I have a 4*60.
Life's been good.

Meister Scale
Hi Bud,
Hard to build? Not, never. I will take a guess at what the difficulty may have been for some. Meister likes to Frame the front half of the fuse and then the rear, joining them just behind the cockpit. It can be a little bit of a headache if you are building your first Meister, I doubted it on mine. You have to splice a couple of stringer during this process, but you would on any model over 48" long. After a little fuss with this you can move right along with the notched sheeting like the old Jemco kits that Jim Meister produced. Dick Bernier claims he can fully build the fuse in 8 hours, I laugh evertime he tells me this. I can build them quickly, but only in about 25 hours. Keep in mind, I have built a few of these and know them in and out.
The wings are constructed with a 3/4" thick, 30" to 40" long, 2 1/2" high main pine spare tapered out toward the wing tips. Other than the heavy spare the wings build as easy as any other model. Framed sheeted with flaps (not included in the plans), retracts installed, 20 hours. Rudder, stab, elev, ailerons, 12 hours. Maybe another 5 hours to join and align everything.
The quality of the cut on the kit can make a big difference on how fast they go together and I have always had a nice cut kit to build from. This can save a lot of time, a poorly cut kit can sometimes give a bad impression on a well designed kit. I don't know if thats a part of the what you have heard on the Meisters but I love these kits and I am sold on them.
I timed my self on the last Meister I built for Jeff Quesenberry with a fully detailed cockpit at 75 hours, almost ready to glass. I have the Meister Zero plans sitting here and a couple other kits lined up for other people after I finish this Don Smith B-29 (poorly cut), but I won't got there. Hey Dicky B., looking forward to that new design you told me about.
Three Meisters attached and a Ziroli P-38

The maximum effect for the minimum effort for me is the Sig SE. Went together fast and it was uncanny in that the wing and tailfeathers were in absolute alignment as built. And it flies very well.

The great planes Giles 202 was a great kit. It was my first kit after assembling a few arfs. This kit went together quickly and even I could not build it crooked. It was a lot of fun.

The easiest and quicickest building plane I have ever built has to be the Great planes F-15 Eagle.
A friend of mine told me that he had heard it could be ready for covering in about 12 hours. I had mine ready in 8 hours.
It looked and flew great.
Remember, Pulling back on the stick makes the plane smaller. Push the stick and the plane gets bigger.
