Default TF Piper Arrow Help

I went to install the mufffler on my tower hobbies .61 installed on the TF Piper Arrow and it's not close to fitting within the cowl. Tower recommends their .61 engine and I purchased the recommended muffler. They know tell me that the Bisson muffler should work but I'm not sure that it will. Doesn't seem to have enough room under the engine for the muffler especially the way that the muffler is designed. Has anyone built the TF piper arrow and if so what engine and muffler combo did you use. Any sugguestions would be greatly appreciate.
Thanks

I 'was' building this kit....sort of got side-tracked. Was planning on an OS .61 with their 'recommended' muffler set-up also. If I remember correctly, (and I believe it is in the manual) you have to do some grinding on the adapter for it to fit within the cowl.....

If nothing else, check out the manufacturers' forum and ask Bax. He really knows his stuff....

If you side mounted it why not use a pitts muffler on it and have it come out the bottom of the cowling? I built a Midwest Cherokee 40 and side mounted the engine and used a pitts with DuBro deflectors on both pipes after I cut them short. I looks and works great.

For some reason there is not enough room between the engine and the nose landing gear rails. I'm thinking of trying the Bisson muffler. Hopefully it is a tinner muffler.
Thanks

So far the kit as been very straight forward. Some areas for me anyway just require a little more patience while building in order to get a good fit. The hardest part so far has been fitting the cowl to the airplane. After about 4 days of work I believe I've finnaly got a good fit. I would say go for it and just take your time.
Good luck!
