Hi!
The winter is slowly aproaching and I want a kit! After many arfs I thought it was the perfect time to go out and buy myself an easy to build kit.
I have never built a kit before so it has to be very easy to build.
Also, i have a 46 2 stroke that needs an airframe+ 5 futaba s3003. Any out there who maybe knows of a kit that might suits me?

Sig 4-Star 40 is a straight forward build and a fun plane to fly. Fits the gear you have sitting around too.

Try most any of Sig's trainers as a first kit. The Kadet MkII was my first plane and first build. It has a 56 inch wingspan, slab fuselage sides, a nice plastic cowl, aluminum main gear and ailerons, and flies great on a .40-.46 engine, and the servos are fine. You'll only need 4 of the servos. I'd recommend taking out about 2/3 of the designed dihedral, makes it a sportier flying plane. If you want something a little bigger (78 inch wing), the Kadet Senior is also great. A little more stick-building involved, and the kit has no ailerons, designed for three channel, but they are not difficult to design into the wing as you build it. The Senior ARF has barn door ailerons instead of strip ailerons, I'd build in the barn door version, plus reduce the dihedral in the kit wing by 2/3.

The Senior is a great all-around plane, the .46 will fly it fine, but if you want to upgrade it later with a bigger engine, it makes a great towplane or candy bomber (there's room to add a bomb bay). Both kits sell for less than $80 USD.

yes i think the t craft would be too much for a first time builder,get a easy kit like a trainer just to build first,might not suit your flying skills but will build your building skills so you can move into something else

You may also want to look at a Sig Somthin Extra. It builds fairly easy and is very aerobatic. If you're flying skills are at least to the 3'rd plane level, it might be one to consider.

that"s what i thought Maybe the greatplanes pt40? my local shop has 20% discount on al gp kits.
I also have 8 metres of solartex, so I plan to cover it with that, then go over it with my airbrush for some nice finish.
I don"t care if it is a trainer, the important thing here is to improve my building skills! And I bet it gives you a different feeling flying a plane you built yourself, and not an arf!?

Edit: ChuckW: I dont know where my skill level is, but I mostly flies around with a giles 202 (100 4stroke) and some 50 size pattern ships. I love pattern:-)

The GP trainer will work fine. Most trainers are engineered for easy assembly, since it's assumed a beginner will be flying it. Your flying skills sound well above the performance the trainer will give. Consider removing most of the dihedral to make it more responsive. Most trainers have a lot of dihedral to increase stability, it will be more fun to fly without it.

how do I reduce its dihedral? making a new wing joiner in plywood?

If you can Fly a Giles 202, you'll definitely be able to more than handle a Sig SE. Of course, if they aren't readily available then that's probably not an option.
