How many times have I just thrown in a 'bit' into my Dremel tool and 'go at it'....never thinking how deep the shaft should be inserted into the tool....never live long enough to learn everything by myself, but I'm trying....

That looks like something I'd do. What I'll do sometimes is, thinking it will be quicker, just hold on to a piece and try to drill a hole in it; the bit hangs up just as it cuts through, jerks the piece out of my hand, and goes 'round and 'round, wrapping up the cord, beating up my hand, etc. As many times as I've done it, you'd think the memory of the previous time would stick. I guess I'm afflicted with "Teflon Brain"
