Default Cub blue/white military trim scheme, ideas?

I have seen pics of the blue on top, with white wavy bottom on the cub, and it looks great, I would like to duplicate this, what type of covering would people reccomend for best finish and ease? My first real kit, I busted butt this weekend and got it almost ready to cover.

I will have help with the covering from an experienced modeler, but he is not sure which covering to use.(think he reccomends fabric, but I am wary of using that.)

monokote? ultracote? 21st century fabric stuff?

What size Cub is it? I seem to remember that you're building a 1/4 scale Sig. If that's the case, I would recommend 21st fabric. It's easy to use and looks great on a 1/4 scale Cub.

Default NE-1

I would think that 21st Century fabric would give you a nice finish. I have never used it but I have heard it goes on nice, especially around curves. I have read people complaining that it don't stick, but I think that may be because they are using too high of a temp on the iron--it's a low temp covering. ALso, one more work about this covering--it gets very heavy when you paint it...

I have attached a picture of a NE-1. Notice the caption says that the upper surfaces were blue and the bottom was grey, not white.

Hope this helps,
-Bob George

Am building the 90 inch wingspan .60 sixed GP cub. I did not clip the wings, as by the time I realized from posters here that it would make for a better flying plane, I was too late.

Thanks for the pic, ya, something like that would be nice. Just gotta sit down with my old friend who is the builder now and start learning.

Default One More

I have attached one more picture for you. This is a photo of how the NE-1 was delivered from Piper--cub yellow with U.S. Stars. I thought you might find the history a little interesting.

I just couldn't stand the yellow either, so this is how mine came out. No particular historical accuracy here, just wanted something different.
