Default Kit for OS .46 FX

Looking for suggestions. I have an OS .46 FX that needs a home. Looking for something Sport - like... Aerobatic.... it was in an Aresti .40 that went in due to interference. Went Spektrum, so rid of that issue. But now looking for an Aresti- like kit to build. Kinda looking at the GP - Tracer... but for some reason, it's fuse shape doesn't light my wick... looks like it has a shoulder issue LOL. The Aresti had such nice looking lines, was FAST, ran on rails, and was very precise aerobatically. Not looking to "go up to a .50 or 4 stroke" I like this /46 FX ... just need a nice home for it, and don't want the plane to be underpowered

If you liked fast and smooth, maybe a Quickie 500 would suit you. It will be pretty fast on your 46 (likely one of the fastest planes at your field unless there are a lot of racers tehre), and set up with sport range control throws and a rudder it will be very aerobatic. Best of all, the kits are cheap. I bought a Lanier Dominator kit for something like $70 direct from them. Build it with the conventional tail, use a rudder and have a ball.

Another option is to scratch build a Miss Martha, search on it here and in the scratch building forum and you can find plans available from the designer for around $10. It's an easy scratch build and can be mild or wild depending on your throws and throttle position.

One last choice is one of the Hots series from MAN. There are several choices for your 46 and they all are fast and wild if you want them to be. Also an easy scratch build.

This is an easy on, Ultra Sport 40. Probably the best flying sport airplane ever designed.

I was kicking around the Ultra Sport..... is the .46 enough to make it nicely aerobatic ? No struggling to pull a loop ?

Got three 46FXs.

One in an UltraSport, one in an UltraSport Plus (w/retracts) and the other in an Ultimate.

All fly well, the original Ultrasport is my favourite though. Despite what it says on the box I don't rate the US+ as a 3D plane.

Propwise I mostly go with 11X6.

I was thinking Ultra Sport when I scrolled down to RC Ken's reply. A Sig Kougar MkII might be a good choice as well. There just aren't any really, really new .40-size pattern kits anymore. At least none that I can think of.

I'm building a SIG Kougar Mark II for my OS 46AX. Just started, glued the wing skins together last night. On the G3.5 Sim I fly the Ultra Sport Plus with a OS 46FX and it's a blast. I think the Ultra Sport is in the same class as the SIG Kougar.

If you don't mind a little cutting you could do a 40 Cloud Dancer..
I have a .46 FX on mine and it's great to fly.

PlasticJoe...That will be some great bonding between you and your son. Just be patient with him, he won't do things quite the way you would.

I love my US 40 plus but i went with a saito 72 because i hadn't ever played with 4 strokes and wanted to. I do have a 46fx in my Jensen Ugly stick which i think was designed for a 60 size engine and the 46fx is way more power than i need.

Why not try something different! The club members and the spectators will gather around this one.
Inexpensive, quick building and awesome performance with a RTF weight of less the three pounds and a 6% airfoil.

One kit with different building options.

Flight video with a stock TT Pro 46.
