Just acquired a Mantua Models Kit "Double" arti. #10470. While the kit is excellent, Parts laser cut very accurate but the instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired. [
]It consists of one page of written instructions referring to "part nos" that seems to have no relation to the plans nor does the parts list seem to have any relation to the parts themselves, the parts list or the plans. I managed to start assembly "jigsaw puzzle" fashion but there are some pieces in the box that I have no idea of the purpose or location. Has anyone built one of these kits? and if there are any further instructions or information available? I have E-mailed Mantua Models but so far have not recieved a reply.

Having suffered through one of their naval ship kits I feel your pain. You may be able to locate a copy of the original instructions booklet in Italian and translate it. Most of their kits were intended for the local market and so instructions documentation in other languages was lacking. A similar problem to the Royal instructions added to imported Marutaka kits in the '70's.

Thanks Cratecruncher. So far construction is proceeding slowly. I have made parts to build a certain portion only to find later a slightly different approach had been taken by the kit producer and now i have an extra part. If nothing else this has been an interesting build. Almost like scratch building!!! By the way I have received a reply from Mantua informing me that what I got was all I get.

I just picked up the "Mini Kosmo" kit. It looks a lot like the old Ace Mach None. I haven't started on it yet. All of the laser cut parts are from very nice, light wood. However, the balsa supplied for sheeting is more like plywood! Very hard and heavy. The sheeting wood will all be scrapped. I only paid $50.00 so that's not bad for a 53" pattern type plane. The cowl is made from quite heavy plastic and will most likely be used as a mold for pulling a nice lightweight lexan copy. This kit will be built as an electric so I will be shedding unnecessary weight wherever possible.

I have found myself in a similar position, I have acquired a kit but I have no plan sheets.
Most of the build is pretty straight forward, the laser cut parts fit very well.
I am having trouble envisioning the gear mounts, and how the rudder and stab attach.
I know your original post is 5 yrs old, any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike
