How about this sexy beast! I love the Gee Bee R3. Airworld has a very large (120"), very nice, but very expensive version of it and Hobby Lobby has a smaller one (59") coming out later this year. I've seen the Airwold one on display at Florida Jets with one of their radial engines in it. One that falls in between that size, would be very nice.
Would be great with one of the Saito Radial engines.

I wish someone would make one that would fly fast on a Saito R5 five cylinder radial, before someone buys mine. (wink)

How about:
1) a 1/5 scale Macchi C202 Folgore
2) a 1/6 scale Kawasaki Ki-45 Toryu
3) a 1/6 scale Petlyakov Pe-2 (would be just over 9 ft. in span)
One single engine bird and two new twins, all of which are pretty slick looking and hardly ever modeled.

Come on you guys hovering on the edges and reading what do you think?
I really like the gee bee.Can they make a smaller one or does someone out there have some plans?.The asking price for the kit is about $4,500 and it's to big for me.

If you can point me to the website and it can be converted to gas i'm all go,was it a scratch build, plans or barf? (barely ready to fly) and what size?
Spent today watching the test flight and certification of a 6'x6' pitts powered by a da150 engine.Glen built the kit up and no expense spared over a few months.Says it's only the third time he's covered an aeroplane..best job i've ever seen and wish i'd taken my camera and could post it.Test flight went well, you can see this thing miles away and considering it cost eleven grand i'd want to keep an eye on it too.

I really appreciate the tip w8ye,that baby is mine as soon as the handbrake gives me the checkbook, and sometime this week i'm going to search for a local dealer. Will only need the basic kit. What size saito radial do you think i can jam in that jigger for scale like performance? GOD i'm excited! and oh oh look out!! here comes the handbrake with my smelling salts..

I was a bit off thread so in an effort to make that up shannon what about a cargo kit twin, any shape you like and at it's most basic..a piece of 100mm pvc tube open at both ends,a 70" wingspan and a couple of carbon fibre heli tail booms for the tail with a bit if balsa in the middle.Air flows straight thru the fuse and cools all the electronics and lekkie motor well(rather have a saito pusher on it tho)I'm off at a bit of a tangent but aerial photography and vids by modellers is so popular now and growing more so quickly, next door neighbour straps his mobile phone to his lekky chopper and hovers over his back yard filming, they come out real good so i spose i'd better warn the handbrake about her nude sunbathing habits.

old fart- speaking of vids did you see the one posted on the front of my website? I shot some video from my rc mustang, .60 size. The video is on the bottom of this page www.penceaviation.com
As for cargo twins, what about that skyvan? Seems like a few guys had interest in that.
Is "handbrake" Aussie slang for "wife"?? lol

Acobra all good choices except the italian TRI motors,we're only allowed TWO engines on this thread plus i think all those ugly buggers got shot down early on in the war,so no-one had the chance to copy it i hope..

Just put a shortcut up for your webby and will look in more detail tomorrow. The hercs were way more comfortable than the old bristol freighter to ride in and the wing bolts looked bigger too..
Don't see why not re the skyvan, plenty of people carving up twinstar foamies at the moment to carry camera gear,FPV too.Would'nt mind a skymaster.
The handbrakes going to kill me.

Ok guys, in the next few days I'm going to tally up the planes that have the most interest and start a poll thread on which one to kit, then we can talk about what scale. If you have any other ideas, get them in now before I start counting!

Mitsubishi ATD-X stealth fighter AKA "Return of the Zero" ... The US Govt said when this is build it will kick the butt of the Raptor.

You're lucky i don't have my aviation dictionary in front of me at the moment, and another ten fingers and thumbs with the hour i've got to spare.[X(]
There's plenty of f4f phantom fans around are'nt there? and they only have two engines..these new fangled efficient 'stealth fighters' just seem to get uglier and uglier
No other semi usefull comments to add..

That Mitsubishi looks remarkably like the raptor.
old fart- I'm actually negotiating a buy on tooling to make an f-4 phantom and a few others. Funny you should mention that. Hopefully real soon I can say more about that, it would be a big deal for us here at www.Penceaviation.com
