I can see also that this landing gear is ok for paved (or smooth) runways.

I would be concerned with nose over on any grass strip. .

Hi
A little up-date .

I.ve finished the covering of the landing gear wires , and I have mixed opinions about it . The black that you see are binders . The wood looks good , the wood and red looks good . Maybe put the binders grey ?

Deffinatly better than the bare wire gear .

Hello Michel,

I am trying to understand in my mind "why the black binder strips ?
Is that on the full size airplane ?

If not then why do you have them ?

Michel,

OK ...you like the strips ... understood ... they are already there and look good .... why bither changing the color to grey >

If it was me I would leave them as they are black.

I think you wanted "opinion" so there you have one.

Hi Nick

Merry Christmas

Nope ,................. Still working on the details . Any which way , it won,t fly until the next flying season . At the moment I,m working on programing a HK T-Rex to my Aurora 9 . Than after that , I have an Align 450 Sport T-Rex , with an AirWolf Fuse that I want to program into my Aurora 9 , with Lights .

But I am still working on the Elder . I,m always adding details to it , something that never stops until one decides to , " STOP " . Well since I,m not going to be flying for another 4 or 5 months ,................ I,m in no rush [8D].

Got any picture of youres ,................ I love to see it .

Season Greetings

Michel

Michel, GREAT job on all the "scale" details you incorporated into the Elder. Your perseverance and effort has paid off with an outstanding looking Elder. I'am sure it will fly as good as it looks. "Two thumbs up". We build 'em "one stick at a time", eh?

Michael, Very nice, great bold colors too. I've got one last thought on details to share with you...OK TWO ideas, not one. First consider installing a wooden "scimitar" type prop for a little more "old time "look. I haven't done this on mine yet but I will on my next parts order (my local hobby shop dosen't have them). The prop blades have a curve and a taper to them and just look more period correct to me. Second, your pilot needs a scarf flying in the breeze! I used a strip cut from my wife's "fabric softner sheets" that she uses in the dryer. The material is nice and light and flutters nicley in the breeze. Go back to my photos and you can see my pilots scarf in photo #3, the 3/4 rear view. We're having an early spring here in Georgia so maybe it will break for you soon so we can hear some test flight reports. Don't forget to post when you fly. Take care, larry

Hi

And good morning .Sure is crappy weather all over the amereca,s . Being inside is the best thing .

52larry52 , thanks for those idea,s , but they were both already in the works . One idea you have given me is what to use as a scarf , that is a brilant idea ,................... many thanks for that one . Thanks for those kind words , I have borrowed many of the idea,s on this project . Had to find out what you ment by , "scimitar" , first time I,ve heard that word . I have a TopFlite wood prop that I am planning to mod as a dummy display prop . And I will most certaily use you,re idea for the scarf .

Here are some pic,s of the final and last mod ( to the Elder ) , to the tail section .

Beautiful work Michel.

Also good photography. I am interested to know what camera you are using.

Here my cameras is a Kodak Z612 ; 12 times optical zoom, 5 times digital zoom, 6.3 megapixels, with image stbilization, 80 minutes video, and 10 setting capability including manual control of lens opening, exposure time and focus (like in the old days).

I would like to meet you one of those days when I go to Fasset (Montebello) where I have dear friends and from there to Montreal cemetary where my relatives are buried (Mom, Dad and Brother). I could drive via St-Jerome.

All the best for you,

Zor
