Lookin good motoman!

What did did you come up with glueing the tip tanks & nacelles together?

How do you like the fit of the canopy? I wonder if it would be easy enough to scratch build one from balsa?

I used Medium CA to glue the plastic together and used Squadron products white putty to fill in the the bad spots and then sanded everything down. will prime everything today and paint later this week.

Very happy with the canopy fit. It's not perfect but all things considered after everything is covered I'm confident it shouldn't be noticeable. Shouldn't be too difficult to scratch build one. just lots of sanding...lol

Hi, I am the original poster/thread starter of this Learjet .40 thread. Hard to believe it has been 9 years since I started this thread! My plane has been sitting dormant all this time, until this week. I got to the point of needing to finish the plastic parts which I feel is the worst part of this build. At that time I also began building a full-scale wooden boat and the Learjet .40 was shelved. I have really enjoyed seeing people continue this thread with their own builds over the years. Thank you to those who have contributed.

While I have been gone I have...
-Built 3 full-scale wooden boats. Glen-L Zip, CLC wood duck kayak, Tango Skiff 13.
-Built several ARF airplanes a few r/c boats.
-Had a baby boy, (now 3 yr old)
-Moved
-Restored an old wooden pedal plane
-Beat stage III Cancer.

The Learjet .40 is one of my last remaining projects that has been started and not finished. So I am back at it. I just completed gluing the plastic engine parts together. I reinforced the portion that slides onto the airframe mounts with some balsa strips. My goal is to get this plane done over the winter and ready to fly but next summer. Again, thanks to all of you who have kept this thread going over the past 9 years!

It looks really good, shouldn't take long to finish it.
