RE: 4*40 came in today
GhostRider32,
Thanks! I have my 4*40 on order right now! I think I am going to try and experiment with the balsa cowl idea that scooterpilot has a link to. I'll mess with the idea before I modify the new kit by using the old fuse I suppose... I also plane to add a quarter inch to the ailerons and about 1/2" to the elevator :] I'm running a Magnum 50fs on this sucker!

Flyboy, you should have no problem with the 4*40, the only real recommendation I have for you right now is that as your first build, read the whole manual through before starting construction. It doesn't take long and will give you an idea of how it all goes together before you start the build. I look forward to seeing you build yours, post lots of pics when you do and if you need help, it's only a post away.

Got the base covering on the top of the wing. Still have to add in some yellow..... The top is metallic blue monocote and soon to be yellow monokote. The bottom is red and white monocote.

Very nice job , the big white and read sections on the bottom should stand out very well . I did notice ,you didn't cover the the center , are you planing on fuelproofing it?
I use the metalic blue on my U.S 60 and was going to use brite yellow for a sunburst and the 2 colors didn't go together very well , so I left it solid blue. Then I just happen to lay some Cub yellow on it and it look much better. So if the brite yellow doesn't seem to go well with the blue, you might try Cub yellow

I am going back to finish covering the center. Probably brush on epoxy mixed with alcohol to thin it a little, I did it that way because I was able to cut the covering across ways off the roll instead off long ways. It seems like I have less waste that way.

Getting closer. Will be ready to fly tomorrow, will fly the next day as long as winds are ok. All of the stars and stripes were cut out of MK.

All the servos are already installed, mount is drilled, guide tubes installed....... Pretty much all that is left is to mount the engine and landing gear and filish the yellow stripes on the elevator.
Kinda messed up on the leading edge on the bottom. Oh well, cover more and get better.........

RE: 4*40 came in today
Maiden tomorrow hopefully. Will be sunny and 40 so hopefully I'll get it in the air. It's finished except I put an old set of Twist .40 gear on it since I didn't have axles for the stock gear. I'll replace those soon because I like the wider stance of the stock gear. A few pics including where I put the Hitec 2.4 antenna under the canopy.

Yep I race rc cars. Not from Houston, but have raced there several times. Is this ''Biff''? [8D] If so, I was a P-I-C in the Biff Mafia...
