Hello all,
I just ordered a GP Extra 300s .60 from myatomic.com. I only paid 119.00 and got free shipping and handling!! I will start the build thread soon after I get this bad boy to my house. Please feel free to chime in at any time with ideas or suggestions.
This will be my second GP Extra but I had a bad experience with the first one that was a .40 size kit. First was the ****ty engine from Tower that caused me several dead sticks on takeoff which equals death to a plane.
Anyways please keep a watch.

Hello,
This will be my last question of the day I promise. I just found really cheap 4 stroke motors on hobbyking.com. I think I already found the motor that I want but not sure about ASP motors.
Below is a link let me know what you think!!!!!!! I want to be able to hover if I want to.

I believe you click on your first post to change the title.
Concerning your engine choice, the ASP series is the same engine as the Magnums with the ASP name. I have several Magnums including the one you listed. I have always been very pleased with mine. Very dependable and easy to start. The outside finish is not as good as an OS or Saito but that's not important to me. I have flown the .91fs now for 2 years as my weekly flyer without issue and if I were building this plane, that's the engine I'd use although it may or may not hover it depending on how heavy you buld it.
Anyway, post lots of pics because this plane is on my eventual list.

I'm running a pumped Saito 100 on 30% turning a ma 15-6 at 10,000 rpm on my Gp Extra 300s. Light and good power more than enough to hover. But I think the best choice would be a OS 120ax with a pitts muffler, u would have space shuttle blastout from a hover and only need 15% to do it... Cheap right here in canada and usa... I'm running a 120ax on my goldberg ultimate and i love this engine, very reliable and LOADS of power.
There are a few mods that really help this plane if yer interested.
I got mine down to 7.4lbs. I'm running hitec mini digitals all round. Rudder is pull-pull 5625. all on 6v

The asp91 will not hover this plane even on 30% nitro as well as getting it as light as mine. When I ran my saito 100 on 15% on this plane it was terrible, it only became fun when I started using 30%... Don't cheap out on the engine. If you are going to go with a 4 cycle go with a 120 size or bigger motor. This plane flies best the lightest you can get it and that includes a light motor with a lot of power, You can't beat the 120ax for this. I have a magnum 91 (same as the asp 91), ran it in my twist 60 was very let down by the power. replaced it with the saito 100, BIG differance! But remeber the Saito 100 is good in this plane if you want to run higher nitro (last I checked $37/gallon in canada)
Don't get me wrong the asp91 is probably a good engine but it is something that I would put on a 40 size plane... Besides magnums and other knock off engines like the asp yer looking at are heavy. My magnum 1.20 is 34 oz (2.1 pounds!) These are great for war birds not extras.
Best bang forthebuck, go with the 120ax u won't be sorry... Or even the new os 95ax.
ASP FS91AR Four Stroke Glow Engine
Weight: 640g (640 g = 22.5753 oz)
OS120ax ( http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...od_id=OSM120AX )
Weight: 22.82 oz

Mine has a Saito 120s with a Vess 16x6. It is a great flier, and a pretty good Billboard. I have had it in the air about 8 times. The weather here lately has been to bad to fly, or I have been at work. I am not much of a 3d flyer, so I am not sure about hovering pull out. However she will do a great flat spin!!!
Good luck with the build.

Turn on high rates, max throw, come in over the runway from your left about 10 feet over the runway, be sure to be level and fairly fast flying about 1/2-2/3 throttle. About 40% down the runway go full throttle (keep her full throttle all the way through this) pull to a 45, immediately roll to the right into a knife-edge, center yer right stick, holding the 45 degree knife-edge for about a half second, then roll hard to the right, wind her up about 2 rotations and then throw both left and right sticks to the right and top and hold both sticks 4 rotations. She will tumble almost end over end! If you have enough power and wind it up enough she will go end over end. It's gotta be the easiest maneuver ever but this plane oh man, u will see!! VERY impressive!
You don’t have to do the knife edge, but that is how the real maneuver is entered, looks better. You can just go into the 45 then wind her up if yer not comfortable with knife edge that low and that fast. Be warned this maneuver is very hard on the airframe especially when entered fast…

Still building mine, but have a Saito 125 installed. I haven't checked the AUW yet, but ready to do lateral balance and CG nose/tail weight addition (if necessary).
I did notice that my right wing panel built 1/16" longer than the left panel worth checking the plans for expansion prior to building.
Really enjoyed the build - looking forward to my first Lomcavek

I just wanted to apologize to everyone for not posting any updates in a while! I am in the Air Force and will be testing for promotion in less than a week!!!!!
Of course planes are taking a back burner to that...
Afterwards it is balls to the walls!
Until then I will leave you with this. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF AN ELECTRIC CONVERSION????????????????????????
What Combo do I use?
Thanks again.

Sorry but I am not sure what you meant by that!!!
However I do Ok. Thanks. Just good money management. I guess that is why it takes me months and months to build my kits.
Building and flying is like therapy for me. Can't put a price on that huh.....

Eflight Power 60, esc to match and a good 11.1v 3000+ battery. Prop it in about the middle of what the motor requirements are. I don't know if enough current is supplied for the servos. u might have to run another battery for them... Power 90 would be similar to a saito 130ish. electric motors nowadays are very efficiant.
If you want crazy pull out power and stupid vertical go with a power 90 instead. the differance in price between a power 60 and a power 90 is probably $10.
I run a power 15 in my reactor and eflite claims the power to be similar to a 15 size glow but it is more like a 25 glow in comparison... I'm turning a 12-8E apc on my power 15 and the power is AWESOME. I'm thinkin of going with a 4 cell for even more power.

All,
Will this Electric motor have enough pull for this plane. If not I want to by from Hobby City so any other suggestions from their site would be awesome.
