I found the hair spray trick worked well and will continue to use it until proven differently. Seemed like the Monokote glued down to sheeted surfaces better. I'm really excited about trying this on the Liteply fuselage sides where I find it difficult to sand smooth. The hair spray cost $2.60 at the dollar store, of course I got super strength stuff.

Ichanged out the stock WJ 64 carb with a SDC 80. When the engine was last used, it would notidle down until the plane was taxied back to pit area and sat for 10 seconds on so, then the idle would drop back back to normal setting. I have read that the SDC 80 will improve this problem, we'll find out. The SDC 80 80 must be fitted with an external pump pressure port. I drilled through one of the dimples on the pump cover and tapped for pressure fitting.
The WJ 64 has a 17.46 mm venturi diameter while the SDC 80 has a 19.05 mm diameterventuri.

I used blue foam to make molds for the cooling ducts, then glassed, when cured, I will dissolve the foam with acetone.

The ducts were fit and glassed in position. I replaced the stock plugs with CM6 units, the original were too tall and rubbed the top of the cowl. I wish I had thought of this before I ordered the ignition system.

Nice work on the glass Tony! What weight cloth did you use and how many layers? Resin?

6 ounce, two layers with West Systems epoxy. Thanks
The GT 80 has the extended propeller hub from the previos install so the the ducts are longer than one might expect.

Hello Tony
Do you also think that built up belly pans are a good substitute for foam belly pans? In terms of strength and weight.

Thank you so much for sharing with us so much of your knowledge. It is thoroughly appreciated!

Randy
