Ashley, you can do it if you take your time. My 6 year old son works on his plane once every week or so, usually about 10 - 15 minutes at a time. He is building the same plane i built when i was a kid.

Welcome, Ashley!!
I think it's awesome that you are interested in your Dads (Now Your) Hobby, and I know that he is really excited that you are joining him in this hobby/sport..
Hmm, I just wonder how he is going to feel when you can out-fly him?? Prolly very proud, yet kinda sad at the same time! To quote Darth Vader, "Now the student has become the master!"
if you don't know who Darth Vader is, ask your Dad!!
Again, Welcome!
Craig.

I think that is great.. I wish my dad had gotten me into building when I was 6. I love his concentration while building, just look at that tongue!
So, what plane is he building? My first kit was a Sig Kadet MKII (Although I was 16 when I built my first!)

Having a daughter to share your hobby with is priceless. Welcome to the fantstic world of RC Ashley and here's hoping you enjoy both the hobby and flying as much as your dad does. Trust me it will be more fun than you could ever imagine.

We decided to build a different airplane. The plans should be here very soon. It is the RCM Advanced Trainer. We havea HB .61 PDP for power and a simple 4 channelFutaba radio.

That's a good choice of model and engine which should make an excellent performing combination and one that I'm sure will give you both lots of fun, but more importantly will provide you with loads of memorable moments to look back on. Don't forget to take loads of pictures and be prepared to share them with us as it's rare that we get to witness a father and daughter at play in our hobby. Best of luck on the build and flying.

I am sure that you are both excited to build and fly a plane together... I know I loved getting together with my dad and building almost anything. I wish you the best of luck in the hobby and life, it is amazing to me, the patience learned in this hobby applies to so many other things in life. I would really like to see more pictures of the two of you in the building process. Keep up the good work.

Hey Jim,
According to an earlier post, the engine is a HB61 PDP. If you ask me, with that motor, I think Daddy wants some stick time on that plane too....LOL
Ashley,
Keep up the great work and you will have a beautiful airplane before you know it.
