I used the stock cabanes from the kit... I've read here that someone had a failure but by then it was too late... My original bird that i built in '96 all in stock configuration still flies and hasn't experienced any problems... bu then again it never flew aggressive maneuvers.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed..

Peter, I have been watching all those pics of your building process, they are a valuable fund of our Brotherhood, I really hope that many of us keep the track of your clean and neat building process.
Cheers!!

alfredbmor,
Thanks for keeping an eye out. As you probably noticed I got the two biggest mods to the kit from this forum. That is, the top wing mod and the cabanes mount mod. For the record, I have a word document that I am tracking this in and when the build is complete, at least up to the point where it's ready to cover I will make available to anyone who wants it.
I'll send you a copy too. Hope all is well with you and everyone here... Have a GREAT and SAFE 4th of July everyone....
Build to resume next week with more info to come...

That sounds just great for all of us here at the Brotherhood. Mods are great too, just keep it as light as possible, you know the rewards.

Just want to share my joy with guys I know love Ultimate bipes dearly! You've seen my CG Ultimate early in this thread. Just yesterday, I maidened this baby, my AW Ultimate 50cc. Had two flights and am still in ecstacy. Jon

Hahaha, alfred, thanks! I just wish the ARF makers would design quick release cabanes for bipes. Screwing in 10 bolts into locknuts, and then disassembly later is a real PITA. Luckily I can transport and store my CG Ultimate assembled, so it almost never comes apart except for inspections. Can't do that with the 50cc one though, so it's lots of work and time to take it out. Maybe I will get real fast at it with practice. Keep up the good work on our CG Ultimate brotherhood! Lots of good ideas and good looking versions in this thread! Jonathan

I would also like to become a member of the distinguished brotherhood. I am including some pictures of an almost dead Bluehawk which will get RCP ASAP and a Redhawk almost to be flown. I will install a 1.2 OS 4 stroke OS Max engine and will be flown in Mexico City (7,200 feet high).

BTW your Brotherhood official number is #64.
It would be great if you post some more pictures as your project goes on.
Enjoy.

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Brotherhood.
Thank you. I will do my best to keep the Forum posted.
Meanwhile, I struggled yesterday to build the tail wheel assembly. The 3/32 wire is really stiff to bend and the complication is how to assure that the wire is free in the nylon tail wheel bracket. Any ideas?.
By the way, I managed to build it in a decent manner, but the technique I used was very arcaic.
Regards

It looks like in the course of my search for this kit...I ended up buying two. Hmm...I'm undecided. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Brotherhood.
Hi guys. I just got a ultimate from one of my friends. He built the plane 22 years ago and was afraid of crashing it so it has sat in the hanger until last week. I took it up for its maiden flight and fell in love with it. now it is in my hanger and I don't want to part with it. I have a few questions about the plane. Is it an IMAA legal plane? and what prop would you guys suggest for an O.S. fs 1.20 Thanks

Turns out that I only got one and a half kits. Lots of stuff missing from my supposedly, "Complete and unstarted kit."
