It's awesome to see how fast the Brotherhood is growing in just a few days time! Just want to report that I had my Ultimate out yesterday for a very satisfying 3 flights. It got looks from guys who had not seen it at the field before. I mean guys just like to see an aerobatic bipe like the Ultimate fly. Did the usual loops, avalanche, stall turns, spins, slow and 4 point rolls, inverted, slow and fast fly bys. Then it just putters in with enough throttle for pillow soft landings. Gotta love it. I have it safely stored in the garage again. Humble pie...one my friends was talking loudly in the peanut gallery when I was flying and jokingly (I think) said it sounds like a fart can, haha. Mine has an old OS 120 FS on it. Geez, I like the way it sounds, lol. Take care guys. I'm headed out to fly again, but with a different plane today. Jon

Jon, thanks for updating, the sound of a four stroke is really sweet and bolted in your Ultimate must be the center of the attention for many people. Mine is well stored too I have not flown it for about a month now. Here the weather has not helped a lot it is still too hot to really have fun. I took my kyosho pitts a week a go for only three flights and my kaos yesterday for pattern practicing but I had only two flights, the day was really hot and decided to go with my kids to a playground area at the mall.
Forecast has not been really accurate, I hope next weekend will be fine.

I take it you are running a log of all the members. When and where will we have our first fun fly?

Yes, it's kind of a real task because it is going too fast.
A fun fly will be fantastic, I will tell to the club buddies to see if it possible to make a good one around here.
Thanks gunneredwards.

Would love to join brotherhood. Do not have a carl goldberg ultimate but it was that model that sparked and nurtured my interest in RC Flying 13yrs ago. Have owned and flown numerous models since then but still love that Ultimate Bluehawk I saw while learning to fly on that buddy box. My current Ultimate is 33% Gasser from world models and still turns heads at the field. THe Ultimate is a true crowd pleaser and several full scale ones built. Thanks for a great thread

Thanks for checking in, indeed all ultimates are always the point of interest at many fields, we will be looking forward for more pictures of your biplane and your commentaries.

I'd like to join the CG Ultimate Brotherhood!! I'd probably like number 44 if possible..
I love my Ultimate bipe and really need to get her out of "mothballs" which is where she's been for way too long. I built this bipe over 20 years ago but it probably only has 100 or so flights on it. I never really finished the covering and it's suppose to have some stripes on it too. I remember I got too anxious to fly and told myself I'd do the stripes later....lol
It has been flown with a YS .91 AC and a YS 1.20 SC. The .91 was pretty nice but the YS 1.20 is an excellent combination!! I love it!!
All this stuff has been sitting so long I need to send the engines back to YS and have them gone through. I originally had some really nice old school pattern servos in the bipe but I've recently robbed them for an old school pattern plane project. I need to get her all set up again and get her going!!
I saw a RCU post a while back mentioning they were dis-continuing the Ultimate Bipe kit, so I quickly ordered which I'm sure was one of the last available kits. I also bought a "framed up" bipe which has been sitting around a while and has a lot of hanger rash. It's pretty rough and will need some TLC but I think it will be a decent plane when completed. I've always liked the Blue Hawk covering scheme so I'll probably try and do it on the next one (if I ever get to it).
Just too many projects and not enough time. It won't take much to get "My Baby" (pictured) back in the air where she belongs...I just need to do it!!
Good Luck with all you guys projects!!
Chuck

I am an old carl goldberg fan myself doing alot of control line flying in my younger years. My last model was The Nobler.I think it was one of his kits.A few flight streeks and naturally a few flying wings if the wing survived the crash?I now need to power 2 motors with 1 controller.I've tried car voltage variable resistors but, they use 12 volts with 60-80 amps!! I have a prototype with no way to control motor speed? As you can see these motors funtionaling equally is critical.Any suggestions? Maybe a car controller? I can run a third wire to the motors if I have to.I could also use advice on prop pitch for the motors I decide on and a Battery that can run bothHere is a picture of the prototype 6ft. foamlifting wingspan 6 inches lead to tail edge.Well a picture tells a thousand words.I think this is a more efficiante way to fly!!

World is smaller than it used to be, a lot of fly ins are attended, we will meet soon, the key is to not loose contact.
I have four biplanes (tiger moth, Pitts, S.E.5a, and my Ultimate), with only one of those I am the center of attention at the field, I can imagine a field crowded with Ultimate biplanes.
This year is almost complete for regular and extra activities on the field but I will talk with all guys at the field to have a biplane fly in day for next year.
