Enlarged Ailerons 1/4 inch and have Digitals (4) on them, close to sound barrier, never flutter, have to mention only 6 inch pitch on propp. Think it is APC 16,5 X 6 on the YS 120. 5 Feet hitting full throttle and straight up, just stress on the Tailweel, i am also good with throttle management witch i learned flyinf full scale 172 and 182 Chessnas

I wish we were all closer together. A dozen or so in the air at once on 2.4 would be quite a site.

World is smaller than it used to be, a lot of fly ins are attended, we will meet soon, the key is to not loose contact.
I have four biplanes (tiger moth, Pitts, S.E.5a, and my Ultimate), with only one of those I am the center of attention at the field, I can imagine a field crowded with Ultimate biplanes.
This year is almost complete for regular and extra activities on the field but I will talk with all guys at the field to have a biplane fly in day for next year.
Alfred.

Hey Alfred sorry it took so long but add me to the list whichever number that may be!
I have had My Ulty for over 5 years now and still enjoy it as much today as I did the Day I madened it! and I have a Kit on the wall ready for a snowy day!!
All though here recently I have neglected it a wee bit in prefrence to my newly finished PAU 37% Ulty, which I did a full recover straight out of the box!
I'll post some pix of my CG ulty soon but for now here is my 37%er!

Bipeguy03, it is really great to hear from you, and take a look at your 37% big toy, it is simple amazing.
You really help me and cheer me up when I was building my Ultimate (a few years a go now), I took many of your advices and I am very thankful.
Now we all have a Brotherhood, which belongs to all of us, as users, builders and fliers of the great Carl Goldberg kit.
Welcome to your brotherhood, your number is 37, and I am very proud to have you here.
Alfred.

Hi all,
I'll be No. 38 if that is OK. I've had three CG Ultimates. The pink one in the picture is the first one and is from a swap meet in PA back in 1996 and has been several different colors. The other guys at the field refer to it as "Mary Kay". It has an ASP 1.08, aftermarket cowl. pants and aluminum gear. The second one (not pictured) only lasted a few minutes until the battery fell out in the middle of a knife-edge loop. Lots of very small pieces. The third one was in traditional blue was a swap meet purchase about 1998 with a Saito 1.50. It needed some TLC, so one of my buddies now has it with a Saito 1.25 and is in this picture. The yellow one in the picture belongs to another buddy who even had the decals made in reverse colors. It also has a Saito 1.25.

Hi Jim and very welcome to the Brotherhood, you are 38 just like you mentioned.
Nice fleet, sorry for the lost of the second one, I will check the ties on my battery, there has been a long time since I checked them for the last time. One more thing to do tonight.
Best regards.
Alfred.

Kostas,
I've moved this Saito to other planes in the last few years. I have always used an APC 16-8 prop with 15% nitro all-synthetic fuel. If I remember correctly, it would turn up in the 8700-8800 RPM range, maybe a little more. Hope this helps!

Kostas,
In my opinion, a 16x6 is not enough prop for a 1.50. You might over speed the engine, float the valves and damage something. If you are flying a big plane or one with lots of drag, a 17x6 would probably be good. I use 16x6 on 1.20 four strokes.
Regards,
Jim

I have a two stroke OS 120 AX engine which uses a 16 x 8 or a 17 x 6 with a slight decrease in rpm (Just below 9,000), a friend of mine, that is a great Pattern flier uses the Saito 150 with a 16 x 8 prop. in his Venus II, making 8,500 rpm.
The Saito engine should be 4 or 5 years old.

Hello All!
I've been "paid" for a building project with a started mostly covered Ultimate 10-300. Good deal with an engine and fiberglass cowl. But I'm going to to strip it down, clean things up and go with my own color scheme.
Please let me claim #55 the year I was born and the age I am. That way I can track how long it takes me to get this thing flying.
