MidStar 40 Help!!!
I can dig them out if he cant
|
??
Just looked over the plans and they aren't there (in a cut-out fashion). it just shows where to put them from the side.
I did some digging and found the sheet in my kit where it was cut out. I can scan that so you'd have the outline if you'd like. |

Hi I want to thank all you guys for your fast responces. The MidStar was used as my training plane.I just "soloed" 2 week ends ago..Me n the Mid had spent alot of time together, I was getting real fond of that plane. This past week end while trying to land It, I snapped rolled IT.. I really learn to fly with that plane.
So now it's back to my trainer, UGH!!! Can't waiting to get IT back together again.. I feel so comfortable flying it. Thanks Again Dan |

BTW, this is my Midstar. It was my second plane also and I still fly it a lot. It's a solid airplane and has taken more abuse than I would have thought possible, yet it just keeps on flying. Also it LOVES to fly with skiis.
Going to have to recover it next winter so it doesn't look like a patchwork quilt.. |

Hi Thanks for the fast reply..I think the 1st set is going to work just fine.. I went down to the crash site today and found 1/2 of former CF-2, put it next to what U had posted and the match looks likes its right on the money.
Thats a real nice looking MidStar that u have..how does it handle as Tail Dragger I was thinking of building Sigs Four Star as my 1st Tail Dragger? Here is a pic of one of my tother planes Balsa USA Thunderbug 40. Put duals servo's in. Thanks Again Dan |

MidStar 40 Help!!!
It handles great as a tail dragger.. That is, it does when you put the gear on the right way. Putting it on backwards tends to make it nose over a lot... (sigh)...
Those are some nice planes you have there! The Kougar always catches my eye. They say it's a great flying airplane also. In any case, glad I could help! Good luck with the rebuild. |
Midstar tail dragger
DanNJ,
For your first taildragger, you should consider converting your Midstar from a trike to a tail dragger. Just move the main gear forward to the point where the plans show if for the taildragger version and add a tailwheel. The Midstar was my second plane and I started with a trike and then converted it when I got comfortable with the plane in the air. That way you can learn to takeoff and land a taildragger with a plane you are used to. |
Kougar
Hi..I think I'm gonna lov the Kougar..I've had 4 flights on IT while on the Buddy Box..The 1st flight my knees where shaking (really).
Last time I flew the Kougar I throttle back to below 1/2 and the plane flew great, went just where I wanted it to go. Flew like it was on rails. Might take it with this wek end? I might build a another MidStar and make it a tail dragger, then take my time putting the damaged one back together.. The wing has morer damaged then I 1st thought and will take some time. Dan |
