Thrust line

Hi All,

Need some help. Building a plane from some big stick plans. Have changed the design from the original. Built it as a low wing. I am about to install the engine mounts. The mounting instructions mention alighning the mounts with the "Thrust Line". What is the "Thrust Line and how do I determine where it is?

Thanks

Tom

Thrust line or datum line is shown on your plans as a line running through the center of the crank and at the rear of the fuse, sometimes it is drawn all the way through the fuse on the plans.

I would expect that the thrust line would be a line running through the center of the prop, perpendicular to the prop (parallel to the crankshaft, throught he center of the crank.

I would also expect that a datum line would be any arbitrary line somewhere, from which all measurements are taken.
