Glue - How old is safe?

I have a1/4 scale Aeronca Champ and don't know the age. All glued joints are yellow and brittle. Do I reglue with CA as it sits? Or do remove all and start over?
Thank you for your advise.

Sounds like Ambroid glue. I have no idea of its strength over a long period of time however.

I wouldn't take a chance. Use some thin CA and just put a bit on each joint. It soaks in and creates a good bond, although I'm not sure it will stick to the existing glue.

This has almost nothing to do you with your question, but I have 25 year Sig Ment that I used to build my trainer 25 years ago, and its still as strong as the day I built it.

If the old glue is not filleted or has very tiny fillets, use Sig-Ment and make good fillets everywhere you can reach and see (I assume the plane is already covered).

If you took the old covering off then it is easy to reglue with fillets everywhere.

You would end up with a model that would not fall into dozens of pieces in a bad landing.
The added weight is negligeable.
