RCU Forums - LST trainer build

Didnt have any 1/2A scale trainers in my hangar and I wanted one to take out to the nearby field, so here is a LST 1/2A trainer scratch build.

I did the main gear setup in a type of box mount as the only way I could use the 1/2A size landing gear I had was to have the gears go inside the fuselage a bit. The nosegear I am leaving as a pivoting gear but will not have any linkage to it. I am using a Waypoint 2205-36 brushless with a GWS 15amp ESP, and 3 Hitec HS-81 servos with a Hitec HFSD6MT micro receiver (will that work with a Futaba crystal???) Still gotta pick out a good battery pack, and I do not want lipo. Any ideas for a battery pack???

Finishing off with 2” nosegear and 1.75” main gears and 6x4 prop. Going to build the pushrods from wood dowel.
