Alpha Trainer

I got a Hanger 9 Alpha trainer and took it to the field today for the first time. My instructor looked it over and hooked up buddy box and told me to fuel it up. When I did fuel came running out of fuselage in front by motor mount. We checked fuel lines they were OK. We removed fuel tank and it was cracked on both sides in front. Should I take it back to hobby shop where they will give me a fuel tank? I am worried about the fuel soaked wood in the fuselage.

Bill the same exact thing happened to me. I called Horizon Hobby and told them what happened and they sent me a new fuselage. It also happened to about 3 other guys in our local club. They were pretty understyanding about it and said that they have had some problems with that fuel tank but that they were going to pull those defective ones off the shelf. I would call horizon if I were you.

Its happened to 2 of my students in the last 3 weeks. The local shop owner says some planes got out with the fuel tank stopper tightened too much. Call them and they'll replace it.
