I am using a Futaba 8FG in my TF P-47 but a Futaba 7C Fasst system would also work.

I used a 10C when I wrote [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=1134]THIS REVIEW[/link]. Then I gave the plane to my dad and he's been flying it with a 6EX ever since

A six channel will work but both ailerons and flaps will need to work off of a Y cable. I like to have the ailerons on separate channels so that differential can be set if needed. That is why I would use a Futaba 7C radio.

This is one of THEE BEST flying planes I have ever had the pleasure of testing - No differential needed.

Besides, differential can be added mechanically if you really wanted it.

I should know better than to argue with you.:D But you must admitt that it is easier to set the end points for both ailerons if they are on different channels. And yes, that can be done mechanically too.:)

It's really six of one, a half dozen of the other. Some people find one way easier, others prefer the other method.

I'm also a cheapskate :D Is it worth 60 bucks more for an extra channel I can live without?

OK, lets leave it at that.:) BTW, I bought the TF P-47 60 size based on your review. I am putting the new OS .95V FS in it and am looking forward to flying it.

Man, if that engine is as good as I think it is that will be one sweet combo!

thanks for all the replies. Was very helpful. I think I'll go with the Futaba 7C . (no way I could even mention a $500 radio system for one of my "stupid planes" to my wife) and a SuperTigre G75 for power. So, could I set up bomb drops with the 7C? Thanks

The Futaba 7C is a good choice. I have had one for five years and even though I bought a Futaba 8FG a couple of years ago, I still use the 7C for a number of planes.

I use a JR 9X2 for mine but I only use 7 channels so a 7C should be fine.

Can't load a pic at this time (RCU problem), sorry- John.
