Looking for engine size suggestions for utter chaos 40

Hi all.
I am starting on a Bridi Utter Chaos 40 from BlueJay.
the engine size requirments for this kit are 35 to 52.
I currently have a O.S 40 FX that I am thinking about using but, I am concerned it will not have enough power for what Iwant to do.
Has anyone built this kit? If so, what size of engine did you use? How well did it work in the plane?

Thanks

We flew Kaos' with .40s in the 70's, today's .40s have the power of the 70's .60s. The.40's then turned 10x6's today's 40's turn 11x7's, I think your 40FX will be plenty for it.

You can't beat an OS 46. Good price from Tower with member discount.

Last 40 I had I used the OS .46 FX. Today I would use the OS .55 AX. That's if I was buying a new engine for it. Your .40 FX will fly it and do all the pattern sequences without any problem so if your not wanting to buy a new engine then just use what you have. If you want more power after you have flown the plane then you can buy a new engine.

ok, Thanks for the advice.
I am going to go with the 40 fx that Ialready have.
I will just keep in mind that I may want to use a larger engine when I build the engine compartment.

Thanks agian.

Your engine will do fine why spend more money.

If a .46FX comes your way, it will drop right in.

Also the Tower .46 muffler, about $16, will fit and give 500-700 RPM more.

Never had any of the AX series so I cannot comment on the mounting hole pattern.
