Obtaining a TF DC3

Hi,

I'm trying to purchase a Top Flite DC3 kit. I live in Australia. Tower Hobbies won't ship packages that large overseas, and none of our local importers can get the kit within 6 months.

Can anyone suggest a supplier or LHS that will ship overseas?

Many thanks,

Steve

Steve,

There are several shops in Aus that will sell you this kit.
If you're in Sydney, try Kelletts or Castle Hill Hobbies.

Modelflight in Adelaide will also be able to get you this kit, they carry TF kits

Well, I've tried all the australian suppliers. Dawn trading is the importer, and they don't have it and all the hobby shops I've tried don't have one either.

That's why I'm trying to source it overseas. I've had kits shipped over before, but Tower doesn't seem to want to ship this kit.

Thanks anyway,

Steve

I can understand their reason for not wanting to ship just one kit to Oz, darn near cost as much as the kit. I have sent things to Melbourne that size and the cost was way up there!!!! Good luck on your search.

The US Post Office is the stumbling block as to why Tower cannot send you the kit.

In fact most of the Postal Services from around the world will not accept kits this size as airmail.

It's just too big for the airlines to carry as airmail in the specialised cargo containers that fit inside the cargo holds of airliners.

Unless you know someone who is travelling o/s and can bring one back as personal baggage, (though it seems odd that one can be checked in as personal baggage to be carried on an airliner, but not posted. Then again, you and I don't make the rules.)
or are prepared to fork out the mega bucks to ship one in via Fedex, you are stuck with the wait.

Don't fret, your not the only one caught out by Dawn Trading. (One day it may "Dawn" on them that there are such things as customers out there!)

Castle Hill Hobbies are advertising this kit as "in stock," and have also marked it down by $Aust 50.
