Covering
[&o]Hi all,
I am trying to find out about covering material. I believe there is only one type that has the paper backing. Some people say it's Solartex, some say Oracover, some say only imported film, and on it goes. I used some a while ago but I don't know what brand it is. I want to purchase some to cover my 1/4 scale Cub. Maybe the paper backed one looks like a fabric, but I know that it pulls round corners real easy. Help me out again guy's please. I don't want to cover then paint. Cheers, Colin. |
RE: Covering
I use World Tex for my fabric covered planes. It has a thin plastic backing on it. It is great stuff. Good Luck, Dave

RE: Covering
Solarfilm/Solartex and Eazycote use a clear plastic backing, Ithink it's Oracover/Profilm that uses the white backing.

RE: Covering
sounds like Ultracote to me

RE: Covering
Oracover and Ultracote are the same film covering, just different names. They (it?) have a paper backing. I wouldn't use film to cover a 1/4 scale model. 21st Century fabric comes in colors, goes on pretty well.

RE: Covering
Hello Colin, If you do not remember the brand, we certainly cannot either http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sn/biggrin.gif. It appears that your best bet is to use Cub yellow Solartex. Zor |
RE: Covering
Ultracote/Oracover plastic covering are one and the same and have the paper backing. The Solartex fabric covering has a clear plastic backing. The Cub would look great with Solartex fabric covering or C-21. It's fuel proof and comes in several colors, Cub Yellow is just one of them. Nothing I have ever used goes around compound curves like Solartex fabric covering, good stuff.
