Kit build flap question
 

Hello everyone.

I am building a Airbus 737 RC Plane for a client out west, and it has 2 flaps on each wing and uses 1 servos for each flap. My question is what channel do I hook each flap in? This is a 10 channel rc plane the wing size is 110"

You need to assign one channel for the flaps and get the other 3 to follow the one that you assigned the flaps to. You might also be able to use a Y Harness and tie all the servo's together making sure to mount the control rods on the proper side of the servo arms for proper orientation. Good Luck, Dave

thanks That is what I was thinking of doing was to use a Y harness and just tie them. I have installed 2 flaps before, and used the Y harness but this is a big kit build and uses 4 flaps. and also has the 2 ducked fans. so I had to do some research .

If you are using Futaba, you might look into the S bus setup. This would allow independant trim of each servo. It seems with the great transmitters we have, the biggest problem is getting all of the servos plugged into the RX. The Y harness will work, but you just lose some control, and everything will have to be setup just right mechanically.
Another option might be one of the Power expander set ups. I have never used one, but the IMAC style aircraft do, as it expands the number of RX ports for a given channel. I think Smartfly makes some of these.

My Stuka has 2 flaps with their own servo in each wing.
I used a y lead for each wing, then another y lead to connect those 2 lines into the rx, so that channel was running 4 servos.
Not the best option doing that as there is a voltage drop in all the connections.
