I hope everyone had a great holiday. I've just got to give Sig a huge shout-out for their amazing customer service. My family got me a Somethin' Extra ARF for Christmas and when I opened it the port side wing panel had about a 1.5 inch tear punched in the top-center of the covering (minimal, I know, but I still wanted to get a model that wasn't damaged in any way). I believe that it occurred during transit to my residence but who knows. ANYWAY, I called Sig Customer Support today and I was answered by a friendly lady within two rings of the phone, not being put on hold and having to listen to an automated directory in two different languages makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. After explaining my problem and providing customer/order information the lady couldn't have apologized more and said that she would get the order to shipping and that they would get me a new model shipped out immediately along with a return shipping slip for "damaged" model. Most places today would accuse you of the problem and say tough luck. Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful New Year full of lots of new toys and goodies!

Mike SIG has had the same great customer care quality since Glenn and Hazel ran the place. The current owners recognized what the were buying and have stuck with what worked. Now if we could just talk them into a one time prepaid run of an obsolete kit like Maxey's Ryan STA or a couple of others....

I got to say the dry lake bed gives you plenty of room for a safety margin.

First, we'll pretend this picture is of a sig kit to keep it real for the "brother hood"

The Lake bed gives you all the room to fly just about how ever you like. Granted it will get your tires a little dirty. But if your worried about that.....

Anyway, I have been to Oklahoma City a time or two and Tulsa many times. I am pretty sure there is no back drop like this to fly in front of.....There sure isn’t a view like this in south east Texas. Heck man, In Houston the only hill you're really going to find is a freeway overpass....

Good looking airplane Rick! Well at least we're not as flat as Kansas! I went to Coronado Heights near Lindsborg KS once and I swear you could see to the state line in every direction!

Yup I was testing out a Christmas present (new camera) and had to do something with the footage I shot....... so there you go. Dave the Minion has been piloting the Spacewalker for a couple years now, very happy to hear the grand kids like it!!

Yup, I recognize the horizon AND the little dust devil starting up in picture 1. The safety margin is a horizontal one though and I seem more vertically challenged if you know what I mean.

This is my Christmas present to myself. It may be the coolest kit (and oldest) that I will build. I can't wait!

Would 2 Sig Riser's Sailplanes let me be part of this thread. I ordered the 2 meter and the 100 on January 1, 2015. I should be getting them in about 5 days. I took a 25 yr break from flying, now going to get back into it. And I am starting off with the builds of these two. I am mostly a glider pilot. Tried engine once, didn't pan out very good. lol. Well I hope everyone will have a Very Happy New Year this year.

You're a shoe in! In my opinion SIG makes Sailplanes for guys who just want to keep all their fingers! ;)
