9-9-2018 I've started a new kit - Lake Buccaneer from Pilot

"wruggiero" do you intend it for glow or electric power?.

I have one of these NIB that I thought about having it CAD copied so more could be made. The LB has had a cult following through the years.

I had the chance to fly in one several years ago. Was a nice flying plane, though flying off the water was a bit strange to me, at the time anyway.
The only issue with the LB is that, if there is any issues with the engine, it won't glide. Had one crash after it ran out of fuel over Lake Washington a few years back. When the engine quit, it went down in a hurry with the resulting death of both on board when it hit the ground

I intend to use a
O.S Max .55 , A Eletric engine cold be an option but I think you will have dificulties installing the Batery

Nice work. I have a NIB one as well. From what I’ve read regarding this Pilot kit, the wood provided is heavy and less than ideal...

Wow this brings back some memories. This kit was a Christmas gift when I was a kid - probably 1986-1988 or so. The build started in grade school and probably finished sometime late in high school. Initially I severely underestimated how heavy this airplane was and I severely underpowered it with an old KB .28 Sportster. The results were about what could be expected. She was difficult to get off the water and then she stall/spun. Several years later I took the OS 32FH out of a Concept 30SE helicopter and tried again - with similar results. I still have the plane, and I've meant to restore her and appropriately power/fly - but the years have just flown by. I'll try to post some photos of her current state when I get to it. Good luck with the build. She's heavy with a high wing loading - don't force her into the air. Anything you can do to lighten her up during the remaining build - I'd encourage you to do so.
