new kit release?

Anyone heard from gossip or trade shows whether there will be any new kits released this year? I always have hopes something new will appear of interest when they have the few trade shows in the early year. I haven't heard much chatter on the subject ...

Got an email from Balsa USA last week asking my opinion on a new/re-release of the De Jager
biplane kit. Going by the poll they had in the email, there were a bunch of yes votes in favor of
that happening. Will wait and see, I have a short kit of one that was cut by Lazer-Works to build.
would pick up another if they reissue the kit.

Yeah BUSA was also polling to see if there was interest in the 1/3 flying bathtub? RC3 or something like that? Not a common plane.. it has lots of character you either love.. or dislike.

I realize the days of annual new release of kits is over. But I always hope to see something new coming out. I wish BUSA would start doing a variety of short kits if they aren't going to release full new kits...There are several 1/4 WW1 kits that could be sold that way...

Foodstick, That would be the Aeronca C-3. There was a C-2, and a couple of C-3 variants.

I had both of the planes mentioned in the posts. The C-3 is a gentile flyer but a PITA to put together at the field and get it ready for flight. Neither one is hard to build and at the time that I had them they were a lot of bang for your modeling dollar. sticker shock today would probably make me stop and think awhile before I place an order for them.

Greg yes ! the Aeronca C-3 ,

I really like the early planes with some character. I think this was one of the first big kits I ever saw fly at an early IMMA event. It was quite impressive in the day. I think the was the same event someone had a Bud Nosen Mustang with a recoil pull start on it ! left the starter setup right on the ole chainsaw motor ;)

The C-3 would be a nice addition to the BUSA line up.

Didn't they, or Joy Products have one previously ?

Yes, Joy Products came out with that in the 70s and I built one. Joy Products was bought and became Balsa USA

I've always been interested in a kit from an ARF mfg. They would be designed for mass production, so one would think that the kit would go together easily.
