3rd plane for my .40 from trainer

Anyone have suggestions for a 3rd plane using the .40 from my trainer (I've flown it to near death)? I'm assuming that most 40 sized planes fly best with a .46 and am looking for something that won't be disappointing with a .40. I thought about a Midstar, but my second plane is a Venture 60 and I thought they would be too similar in flight characteristics. Any input would be very cool.

Thanks

I'm flying a Four Star 40 with clipped wings. The aileron travel is 2-1/2" total and I can guarantee that it is a whole lot quicker than the Venture 60.

My other sugestion would be the Somethin Extra.

Either plane should give you more fun than you can stand.

I thought about the 4*40 (was going to build the 60 size, but chose the Venture), but thought it too much like the Venture (floater) (You seem to believe otherwise). Also, thought the Something Extra demanded a .46, but I don't know. I did see the Uproar. My trainer has an OS .40 LA that runs like god. More suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

If anything I would put something together that you could use to "test and practice" new tricks without having to worry about too much. The 4*40 would be a good choice because its cheap and very easy to build, but it would probably still be a bit underpowered with the 40LA.

Both the 4*40 and *60 (or Venture) are floaters on landing, but they fly quite a bit different. My 40 (RIP) was quick and twitchy but you could pull it out of anything. The 60 (Venture) is a very stable and predictable acrobatic airplane. Both are fun for different reasons.

Actually if it were me I would sell the 40LA to someone that has problems with their cheap trainer motor, then buy a 46FX and put it on a quick twitchy plane, then go out and learn some new tricks. The difference in power between an LA and an FX is huge.. and if you add an Ultrathrust muffler to the FX...
