explain % sizes for extra 300 please
 

I want to go bigger but I don't want a plane that wont fit in my house!!! I'm currently flying a GP .60 Extra 300s, What size is this in % ? (ie. is it a 1/4 scale?) I would like to go to a 1.20 I think but who sells a kit in this size, most I've seen are ARFs.
I'm scared of ARFs at this point and I have a tendency to ***** about cheap S##T so I want to build it myself.
So what scale would a 1.20 extra be? I would also like one with room to put in a scale cockpit and full bodied pilot figure so I need a supplier for these parts as well as scale wheels tires and scale tail gear
Also any links to sites with lots of documentation for accurate reproduction of this plane for scale competition would be welcome.
I'm not looking to build a copy of Wagstaffs or any other generic kit but I do want it to be an accurate reproduction and I will cover it to my liking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I know you guys with the info are out there

Great Planes lists their Extra 330L with a 100.5" wingspan as a 1/3 scale. If accurate that means the full size plane has a wing of 25' 1 1/2" span. And the "Patty" Extrra 300S at 1/4 scale is 78" span, that would make the full 300S a 26' span.

So now you have to decide how big a plane you can handle, figure the percentage,and go from there.

I believe there is a little variation, as I'll show in just a minute. You have to consider if it is a 300L, 300S, 330 etc.

Aeroworks 37%300L 117" wingspan,
Aeroworks 39%330 117" wingspan
WildHare 35%300L 105"
GP as stated above. These are close enough for kicks and giggles though.

Goldberg used to make a kit for the 120. The wingspan was 69" and it flew really, really well. Don't know if you can find that kit anymore or not. The Great Planes 60 size kit may also welcome a 120, but am not sure.

C.A. makes a 24% Extra 300L kit. It has a 73 inch wingspan. C.A. model Extra kits come with pre-sheeted foam wings and turtledecks and all the wood in the kit is laser cut. You can get more information on them from:

If you are talking about the wingtips of the full scale planes. they are sighting guides for the pilot to use checking bank angle, lets him see that his four-point rolls are bang on 90 degrees, and so forth.

If you're talking about models, then they are either for scale detail, or the plane is U-control and the bent up hanger is the guide for the lines. Although they are more commonly run inside the wings.

Yeah, CG still makes their 120 Extra. Not an exceptional kit, but still good. Tower has it for 150, I believe. Awesome flyer. Won't 3D, but flies like a dream in regular aerobatics.

Midwest and Lanier both do slightly bigger than quarter scale Extras. Way too big for 120s though.

For a normal 120, I would go for the Goldberg.
