RE: canopy mounting?
Hi Raptor:
I use a product called Shoo-Goo and glue them on. Shoo-Goo is a glue like stuff that is esed to gle the soles back onto athletic shoes. Got mine at K-Mart. It dries clear and so far has been fuel proof(over 4 years). It is very thick and gooey. And you have to be carful how you apply it. A little goes a long way. Try applying it with a toothpick or something similar. Rc-56 glue is a favorite, although I have never used it. Many, many people have used it with great success. I hope this helps. Mark Shuman |
RE: canopy mounting?
Zap A-dap-Goo II gets my vote. I think the glue phread59 recommended is the same but the zap product is at most LHS.

I use Goop silicone. I have tried the canopy glue, and was highly disappointed with it.

RE: canopy mounting?
I used screws on my 4 star to mount the canopy and after 30 flights on sunday my pilot decided that he does not want to stay seeting.
So I needed to remove the canopy and reglue the pilot to his seat. I hate to have this problem when my canopy was glued. I believe I will stick to screws for mounting the canopy just in case and off course if I removed the covering to glue the pilot I wouldn't have had this problem at first. |

Hey Ronk:
I believe you are close. I think it is the same company. Ithink the shoe goo is a little more flexible. Either would work fine. Mark Shuman |
RE: canopy mounting?
Well, I used the Canopy Glue from the LHS (compound 56 or something).
Crashed plane on maiden. Canopy survived perfectly well... was what kept the middle of the Fuse together. The fuselage in front of the canopy was shattered, but the canopy itself, and all it was glued to remained intact. Took a steady hand and a #11 to remove the canopy so I can repair the split in the floor of the cockpit. The rest of the repairs are going to take a while longer. I will definately use the Formula56 again. gus |
